Why are my ads getting many bot clicks?
There are two types of bot clicks:
1. Bot or crawlers that automatically visit links on Twitter, trying index and rank the links on Twitter. There are many bots like these. We pass these bot clicks to advertisers but advertisers are not charged for them and publishers are not paid for them.
2. Click fraud bot clicks are generated by scammers and cheaters who try to increase the number of clicks on ads they post to increase their earnings. These bot clicks are illegal and can be recognize in several ways because they differ from human clicks. Advertisers are not charged for these clicks and publishers involved with this type of bot clicks will be banned permanently once confirmed by auditing.
As a publisher, having bot clicks on your ads does not mean you did anything wrong if they are the first type of bot clicks, but they are not counted as valid clicks.
As an advertiser, we pass these bot clicks to you because having your links crawled and indexed may help the ranking of your site and may bring in future visitors, but you are not charged for bot clicksince they do not contribute to immediate conversion.
