How can an advertiser get more clicks to his ads?
The number of clicks an advertiser's ads get depends on its CPC, the advertiser's account balance, what is advertised, how the ad is written, how many valid clicks it generates from each tweet posted, how many advertisers are competing for the tweet spots, among other things.
Here are some tips on getting more clicks for your ads:
1. The CPC of your ads: The minimum now is $0.10, but ads with CPC higher CPC are getting the bulk of the clicks. Publishers pick the higher paying ads first. The higher your CPC, the more motivation for publishers to tweet your ads. Of course, you need to first experiment to find out the price point that will give you the desired ROI. We recommend you start low and increase the CPC if you are happy with the results and want more clicks.
2. Your account balance: You should to maintain a balance of $25 or more at all times. So either fill your account with a larger deposit or refill frequently. The higher your balance, the more your ads will be tweeted. Tweet spots are given to ads with more money in the account and with more budget left. When your account balance is low, the system will remove your ads from posting so publishers who already tweeted can earn some money from them.
Why is this? If an account only has a small amount of money, it does not get tweeted by many Twitter users because it will run out of money soon and the Twitter users won't earn money from their tweets. Each Twitter user can only tweet 1 to 4 ads per day depending on their follower counts and how many non-ads tweets they post. This is to prevent spamming. Since the number of ad spots are limited for each user, they want to use the spots for ads that have the potential to earn more.
In addition, with a small balance, your ads are ranked low and not tweeted by big publishers. If a big publisher tweet your ad, you may get many clicks from one tweet, but if you do not have the money in account to back it up your ads are not tweeted by big publishers.
3. What you advertise. It is hard to predict what will do well. Typically, these do better: something new that is controversial or interesting and unique, new websites, Twitter related, technology and gadgets, make money/home business, but there is no guarantee. Other ads may do better too. Only way to find out is test.
4. How your ad is written. It should be provocative, controversial, intriguing. Write multiple versions of the same ad will also help generate more tweets, thus more clicks. However, the system requires about $20 in your account to back up each active ad.
